FAQ: Adults Joining Scouting

Q. I am an Adult and would like to help Scouting, but what can I do?

A. There are many ways you can help Scouting, be it within the Sections, on a Group Committee or by Joining the Active Support Unit.

We need enthusiastic adult volunteers for the following roles: Uniformed Leaders to work with Beaver Scouts (6-8 years), Cub Scouts (8-10 years), Scouts (10-14 years), or Explorer Scouts (14 to 18 years). Sectional Assistants, who are non-uniformed helpers, are also required in all sections. People willing to help manage Scouting, as Group Officers, committee members, or fundraisers, are also always required.

We invite applications for any of these voluntary positions, all of which are, of course, fully unpaid!

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. A full programme of training and support is provided for all adult volunteers.

A full CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) Disclosure clearance, together with references will be required for all posts.
