Adults from 18 years upwards can provide Active Suppport in their Scout District.

Adult Roles

There are many ways adults can take an active part in the Scout Movement:

Working directly with our members as:

  • Section Leaders
  • Assistant Leaders


  • Sectional Assistants (non-uniformed)
  • Group Scout Leaders, responsible for the overall running of a Scout Group
  • Group Officers (Chair, Treasurer or Secretary)
  • Members of the Group Executive Committee
  • Instructors providing specialist knowledge


All of the above roles require CRB Clearance and appropriate training is provided for each role.
